The Epoch Times is reporting they have exclusively obtained an audio recording that reportedly has a speaker — believed to be a “Taliban combatant — asking a “superior” what they should do with the “Afghan allied stranded” in Afghanistan following their procurement of U.S. lists of said allies.

The audio recording, according to The Epoch Times report, had the “Taliban combatant” saying that “we received all of their lists, those who were relying on foreign sources to evacuate them to America.”

“What is your order regarding finding and gathering all of them and kill them, hang them or expose them to the public or stone them to death — what should we do?” the speaker asked the “superior.”

As to the validity of the audio recording, The Epoch Times reported the following:

The source of the recording, and why it was sent to this family, is not clear, although Department of Defense intelligence experts told The Epoch Times they believe it was sent to phone numbers taken by the Taliban from lists of those holding Special Immigrant Visas (SIV)—the visas granted to Afghans who worked for the United States. The experts believe the recording is a psychological warfare operation meant to panic, and thus flush out, individuals who assisted the United States.

The report of the audio recording comes just a week after Secretary of State Antony Blinken refuted reports that the U.S. had given the Taliban a “kill list” of evacuees, both American and Afghans would aided or worked with the U.S.

“In specific instances, when you're trying to get a bus or a group of people through, and you need to show a manifest to do that because, particularly in cases where people don't have the necessary credentials on them or documents on them, then you would share names of the list of people, of the bus so they can be assured that those are people that we're looking to bring in," Blinken said, according to Yahoo! News. "The idea that we put anyone in any further jeopardy is simply wrong.”

Blinken’s argument is semantic, because he’s saying that they didn’t provide the Taliban with a “kill list.” But, what did you think giving a list to the Taliban of people who helped the U.S. over the years against a terrorist group like the Taliban was going to do with it? Have a ten-minute tea party?

And do you see how he tried to play if it off as if what they gave the Taliban wasn’t a list, it was a “manifest,” while using the word “list” in the same sentence.

Well, Merriam-Webster defines the noun use of “manifest” as “a list of passengers of an invoice of cargo for a vehicle.”

A “manifest” is literally a list.
