The assault on police officers across the country continues at an alarming rate, despite the silence on these instances by the national media.
An Arizona State Trooper is said to be “expected to be OK” after being shot early Thursday morning. It could have been worse for the officer had a “Good Samaritan” not been there to save the day.
The trooper was responding to a major car crash in which a car had rolled over severely injuring a woman. The woman later died at an area hospital.
According to Fox 10 – Phoenix:
DPS says the trooper was "ambushed" by the suspect when he responded a rollover crash along westbound I-10 near milepost 89. The trooper was shot in the shoulder during an altercation with the suspect.
A Good Samaritan passing by the scene saw the two fighting, pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the report, a civilian then got on the trooper's radio and called for help.
It might be about time to let police officers do their jobs to their full ability within the law, so that they aren’t afraid of having a confrontation with a suspect, like many reports have recently stated.
The funny part is that the same people who bash cops at every turn do not hesitate to call for assistance when they feel they are in trouble.
There are bad apples in every bunch, but the majority of police are good people who are trying to make their neighborhoods better and get home to their families safe and sound.
