Dumbassery — yes, I know that’s not an actual word — continues to plague politicians. This time, one socialist congresswoman espoused an old, tired sentiment among authoritarians in Congress — rich people are evil.
Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sent out a stupid tweet late Tuesday evening in response to another stupid comment about who should or shouldn’t “exist.”
Ocasio-Cortez truly believes, and said so in her tweet, that “no person should have a billion dollars.” At this point, why not just tell people that they’re only allowed to be as successful as “the state” allows?
Take a look:

As you could see above, Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet was in response to billionaire CEO of The Blackstone Group Stephen Schwarzman’s comment that “Maybe [Sen.] Bernie Sanders shouldn’t exist,” which was in response to Sanders tweeting out that “Billionaires shouldn’t exist" last week.
It was just a chain of one stupid comment after another.
Sanders comment was dumb in the sense that if the senator truly believes that “billionaires shouldn’t exist,” then he also doesn’t believe in the freedoms that makes this country what it is.
Make as much money as you want. Sanders and other politicians have no right to tell you how much money you can make considering that they make a large chunk of their earnings off of the same people they want to hold down.
Schwarzman’s immature comment was subsequently dumb because he used Sanders’ comment literally and, in turn, questioned whether Sanders should “exist.”
You don’t have to like Sanders, or ever agree with him, but to wonder whether someone should exist at all makes you sound like an eight-year-old who didn’t get his way.
Ocasio-Cortez called out Schwarzman’s comment, but then re-entered stupid airspace by clarifying that “no person should have a billion dollars.” Ocasio-Cortez went for the emotional argument, rather than a factual one, because she attempted to claim “exploitation” while exploiting the alleged plight of insulin users. It's just another way for authoritarians to argue that the government should be in charge of health care.
The funny part is that if it weren’t for the wealthy, Ocasio-Cortez and her politician cohorts might not have jobs.
“The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (37.3 percent) [in 2016] than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent),” Bloomberg reported in 2018.
And yet here we are, cascading down another waterfall of dumb.
