Welcome back to America’s favorite game show, “America’s Dumbest Criminals!” For your submission today we have the case of 21-year-old Shamon West.
West stole the purse of Pine Bluff, Ark,. waitress Flora Lunsford on Sunday. Two days later West was in jail.
Why, you might ask?
Literally two days after West stole Lunsford’s purse which also had her driver's license and social security card, he thought it would be a great idea to go to the restaurant that Lunsford works at and pay for his meal using one of her credit cards.
The police department couldn’t believe West’s stupidity, as evidenced by their comment on the case:
“As a side note, the driver’s license, as all do, had her picture on it," the police department said, according to KATV - Little Rock. "Therefore, you would think he should have known what she looked like. Yet, he still handed her own credit card to her.”
Police say surveillance video from a local gas station showed West stealing Lunsford’s purse out of her vehicle while Lunsford was inside. Not only did West steal Lunsford’s purse, but he also didn’t pay for the gas he pumped into his car.
KATV also reported that West is currently in the Jefferson County jail “for forgery, theft by receiving, and three outstanding warrants.”
On a scale of mistake to complete dumbass, we’ll give West a dumbest criminal rating of “too stupid to be a dumbass.”
