Former Democrat Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) appeared on Fox News’ “Sunday Night in America” to talk to host and former congressman Trey Gowdy about the debacle going on in Afghanistan.

Van Drew didn’t mince words in calling out the Biden regime, even going so far as calling on multiple people, including President Joe Biden to resign.

With this administration, it’s failure after failure after failure. Honest to God, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am. It literally is time for this president to resign. It is time for this vice president [Kamala Harris] to resign. It is time for the Senate president [Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.)] and our Speaker [Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)] to resign. We need new people, even new Democrats, hopefully that are moderates.

Van Drew’s comments come amid the Taliban’s accelerated takeover of Afghanistan in the last couple of weeks.

The congressman continued his comments by pointing out the how Biden was wrong in his assessment of the conflict in Afghanistan.

The president promised us that this wouldn’t happen, promised that it wouldn’t be like Vietnam, promised that there wouldn’t be people trying to literally be taken away off the top of our embassy. And literally, just his words a short period of time ago, and not one word made sense. None of it was right. We can’t keep doing this. We gotta get — we have to be the America we’ve always known and always loved. This is not that America.

For context, here are two quotes that Van Drew is most likely addressing with his comments, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune:

“The jury is still out, but the likelihood there’s going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely.” (July 8)

“There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of a embassy in the — of the United States from Afghanistan.” (July 8)

Well, what happened? And why did Biden decide to go hide at Camp David while the takeover reached its climax?
