While the scene inside Congress during yesterday’s impeachment hearing may have been tense, it was nothing compared to what happened inside a senior couple’s home in Florida.

According to this, a 62-year-old man was arrested and charged with battery after he allegedly pushed his 60-year-old girlfriend to the ground after the two started arguing over – of all things – the impeachment of President Trump.

Police say Ernest Ford and his girlfriend of seven years became “engaged in a verbal dispute about the impeachment hearings” around 7:45 in the evening on Saturday. The police report states Ford ran into a back bedroom of the couple’s mobile home to get away from his girlfriend, who followed him and continued the argument. During the altercation, Ford shoved the woman who fell to the ground and sustained a scrape on her knee.

Ford was arrested and charged with battery, but was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

While the Democrats’ partisan impeachment effort against Trump might be entertaining to some, here’s a quick tip: if it’s causing enough friction in your relationship to warrant battery charges and bail bonds, maybe it’s time to turn off the TV.
