The response from TV news was lukewarm at best (aside from a weirdly giddy CNN panel), with some reporters going so far as to declare the hearings “a disaster,” and impeachment “over.”

While MSNBC analysts were peeved by the lack of Trump talk in Wednesday night’s debate, the network’s post-debate panel more than made up for the discrepancy, with much of their discussion centering around the President. On Sunday, NBC’s Meet The Press will air an interview with President Donald Trump, conducted by the network’s political director, Chuck Todd. While Todd’s interviews with 2020 Democratic contenders have consisted largely of challenges from the left interspersed with the odd softball, Trump is unlikely to receive the same friendly treatment.
