Earlier today at the Republican Leadership Press Conference, House Minority Leader John Boehner blasted the teachers union bailout calling it some of the most irresponsible policy that he has ever seen. The House approved the $26 billion teacher bailout by a vote of 247-161. "I’ll remind all of you that this year the federal government is going to borrow 43 cents for every dollar the federal government spends. Think about that. Almost half of the money that’s going to be spent this year has to be borrowed from our kids and grandkids. Then what are they going to do? They’re going to make it worse," Boehner said during the conference.

He continued, "This bailout to the teachers unions is some of the most irresponsible policy that I have seen. The American people are screaming at the top of their lungs “STOP” and Washington continues to spend, spend, spend. Listen, I’ve been around my district and a few other districts and the American people know that it’s time for the spenders to go and to have real fiscal responsibility here in Washington, D.C." An emergency session was called so Congress could vote on the measure.
