The Democrat National Committee (DNC) launched a Twitter campaign Monday night with the following tweet:

The post reads,

“It’s time to up your #selfie game, because you have a chance to meet the President.”

From first glance, it seems like the DNC is asking people to send in their best self-taken photos for the chance to meet Obama.

When you click on the link provided, however, you get taken to a page encouraging Obama supporters to enter their email and zipcode for the opportunity to meet the President at the DNC Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 19.

With all of Obama’s recent media stunts—from sitting down with YouTube celebrities like the “Queen of YouTube” GloZell Green, interviewing with Vox for what turned out to look like a campaign commercial, and now meeting with the social news and entertainment site BuzzFeed, famous for its nonsensical lists and ridiculous but admittedly addictive quizzes—the #selfie contest didn’t seem farfetched.

Here’s what Twitter users had to say.

It looks like that marketing strategy worked out.
