Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) has angered lefty lunatics that want school kids to be able to select a brand new gender without interference from their pesky parents. Youngkin edited the state’s transgender policies Friday in order to give parents the transparency they deserve regarding their child’s educational experience.
Youngkin revised the state’s Model Policy for public schools that was initially crafted in March of 2021. That policy was withdrawn and the new, 2022 version took effect Friday Sep. 17.
Updates include the fact that parents need to be in the know about their children attempting to identify as a gender different than the one they were assigned at birth. Youngkin made it clear that schools “shall respect parents’ values and beliefs” as they are the “child’s primary and most important educator.” He’s exactly right.
Specifically, the guidelines indicate the following:
Parents are in the best position to work with their children and, where appropriate, their children’s health care providers to determine (a) what names, nicknames, and/or pronouns, if any, shall be used for their child by teachers and school staff while their child is at school, (b) whether their child engages in any counseling or social transition at school that encourages a gender that differs from their child’s sex, or (c) whether their child expresses a gender that differs with their child’s sex while at school.
This should be the standard. I’m unsure when schools decided that they could abet the life altering decisions of minors without any parental consent. We shouldn’t even have to clarify that there should be transparency between schools and parents but, here we are.
Going even further, Youngkin’s statement insisted “School personnel shall keep parents fully informed about all matters that may be reasonably expected to be important to a parent.”
Teachers and parents should be in partnership. They should coordinate and communicate to provide the best school/home relationship.
But the left doesn’t want parents to have a say in what goes on in classrooms because that ruins their chance to indoctrinate and brainwash the youth while they’re in what they consider to be a “safe zone” ( the schools funded by ... parents).

“Be themselves?” She really meant to say “be someone they’re not" because that's exactly what transgender people are.
ACLU of Virginia was “appalled” and suggested that Youngkin’s administration would increase the “self-harm & suicide rates” for kids in VA.

The Recount insisted that Youngkin’s policy would cause teachers to “purposefully misgender students.”

No, it’s not misgendering. It’s “trusting the science!”
Other accounts are still posting their hissy fits regarding the policy changes and pushing the false narrative that this will “hurt” kids.
The thing is, kids can still chose to be transgender. Younkin’s overhaul doesn’t stop that from happening, it simply gives parents the voice that they deserve in their children’s education.
Really, if a kid wants to change gender, as the new policy states, they just need a permission slip. This is not about control, its about transparency.
Parental rights in education are dwindling all across the nation and Youngkin’s transparent stance is one positive step in the right direction.
