Democrats like to talk about “civility” and “unity,” but only after calling their enemies “Nazis” and “domestic terrorists.” Remember, they’re allowed to be the bigots they call everyone else, but you aren’t allowed to speak truths about the people living in glass houses.
At Wednesday’s House Homeland Security Committee hearing in which Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was either being applauded by those that go along to get along and castigated by those who point out the very difficult realities that are a direct result of U.S. policies at the borders.
Polarizing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was interrupted multiple times during her time to speak because of accusations she made against both Mayorkas and fellow polarizing Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.).
First came Swalwell’s interruption after Greene mocked the California congressman’s time accusing Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, of saying they want to “defund the FBI,” while ignoring that his party called to defund all police for at least a year in the not too distant past.
“That was quite entertaining from someone that had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy,” Greene said. “And every knows it, but thanks for entertaining…”
That was when Greene was interrupted in order to get her words stricken from the record, which was eventually turned down.

When Greene was allowed to reclaim her time, she spoke about the Fentanyl crisis and how it’s killing hundreds of Americans every day.
“How long are you going to continue this outrage, complete outrage where China is poisoning America’s children, poisoning our teenagers, poisoning our young people? How long are you going to let this go on?” Greene asked Mayorkas.
“Congresswoman, let me assure you, we’re not letting it go on,” Mayorkas responded. “We are fighting this…”
“No! Reclaim my time,” Greene interrupted. “You are a liar! You are letting this go on, and the numbers prove it. You can’t lie about the facts, Secretary Mayorkas.”
Shortly after these comments, ranking member Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) interrupted in order to get Greene’s accusation of calling Mayorkas a liar taken down, which would also prohibit Greene from speaking for the rest of her time.
“We can disagree,” Thompson said. “But, just the fact that we have people watching, you don’t have to call a witness a liar.”
If they’re a liar or lying at the moment, why not? I don’t want to hear about any level of civility, especially when the supposed party of civility condones and sometimes encourages riotous mobs to destroy American cities.
This is just another example of selective outrage from the left. You’re not allowed to get near the Capitol, the supposed people’s house, without the government arresting you and putting you in a gulag style incarceration. But, go right ahead and burn down a CVS. It’s the Democratic way.
Plus, if we really want to break it down to its simplest, the left is merely trying to stifle the free speech of Greene in much the same way they did while Democrats were in the majority of the House.
