Ah, politicians. They really seem to have rendered themselves pretty useless at this point, judging by their indifference towards U.S. citizens when it comes to pretty much any issue. Here’s just another example of their uselessness.

On Monday, Democrats in the New York State Senate reportedly blocked a motion that to subpoena authoritarian New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration to provide the public with a “fuller accounting of nursing home residents who died from the [Chinese] coronavirus,” according to the New York Post.

One week after he “threatened to subpoena the DOH [Department of Health]” to release the total number of nursing home deaths, state Sen. James Skoufis (D-Rockland) walked back his call in order to argue against the motion to release said information by state Sen. Thomas O’Mara.

Supposedly, Skoufis was upset at O’Mara’s motion because O’Mara didn’t let him know about it ahead of time.

This is what happens in our government, whether it’s local or federal. They all say the things they feel needs to be said in order to get them elected and to keep their support. But once someone from the opposing political party calls for the same thing, all of a sudden they hate the idea. This is how nothing ever truly gets done on behalf of the people in favor of items that only benefit the politicians — been going on for decades, if not centuries.

The politicians all say they want to help people, but only if they get the credit their insecure hearts feel they need in order to actually get anything done. Sad.

O’Mara’s motion comes less than a week after New York Attorney General Letitia James released a report claiming that Cuomo’s administration underreported nursing home deaths resulting from COVID.
