Wow: Joe Scarborough Actually Says Trump More Harmful to America than the 9/11 Terrorists

September 11 is a day of unity, service, and remembrance.

The night before the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough in a column in the Washington Post decided to remember the victims, survivors, and first responders who bravely ran toward danger to save their fellow man by doing just the opposite.

In a column entitled, “Trump is harming the dream of America more than any foreign adversary ever could,” Scarborough attempts to make the argument that President Trump is more dangerous and harmful to the U.S. than the sum of damage done to the country by Osama bin Laden and the 9/11 terrorists.

He says that Trump’s predecessors George W. Bush and Barack Obama had their fair share of “policy failures,” but that Trump and his “maniacal moves” have damaged America’s image on the world stage.

“Sixteen years of strategic missteps have been followed by the maniacal moves of a man who has savaged America’s vital alliances, provided comfort to hostile foreign powers, attacked our intelligence and military communities, and lent a sympathetic ear to neo-Nazis and white supremacists across the globe,” writes Scarborough.

“For those of us still believing that Islamic extremists hate America because of the freedoms we guarantee to all people, the gravest threat Trump poses to our national security is the damage done daily to America’s image,” he goes on.

Scarborough then argues that Trump “has done more damage to the dream of America than any foreign adversary ever could,” worse than even Osama bin Laden.

He adds that it’s up to voters these coming midterm elections to decide “whether their country will move beyond this troubled chapter in history.”

Scarborough writes, “As the New York Times’s Roger Cohen wrote the month after Trump’s election, ‘America is an idea. Strip freedom, human rights, democracy and the rule of law from what the United States represents to the world and America itself is gutted.’ Osama bin Laden was killed by SEAL Team 6 before he accomplished that goal. Other tyrants who tried to do the same were consigned to the ash heap of history.”

“The question for voters this fall is whether their country will move beyond this troubled chapter in history or whether they will continue supporting a politician who has done more damage to the dream of America than any foreign adversary ever could,” he argues.

What happened to, “Never forget”?

After receiving backlash for his column, Scarborough offered a less-than-genuine apology for his "wording" and "conclusion."

He then went right back on his "apology" and blamed Trump supporters for how they received his column.

It was Trump supporters' faults for taking it exactly the way he wrote it. Right.

Here he is defending himself and saying that his column was more about the "17 years of missteps" by politicians since the 9/11 attacks and not Trump being worse than terrorists -- though he still makes that point.

Classy.
