LifeNews.com reported on Monday that House Democrats for a sixth time have blocked a request by Republicans to vote on a bill that would prevent infanticide – specifically the murder of babies who survive failed abortions.

This is something that should be a nonpartisan issue.

“This is the sixth time Congressional Democrats thwarted an attempt by Republicans to vote on a bill that would provide medical care and treatment for babies who provide survived failed abortions — six times in the House and once in the Senate,” the pro-life website reports. “Congressman Tom Cole, an Oklahoma Republican, asked for unanimous consent to bring up the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act for consideration and a vote. Democrats refused to acknowledge him for the request.”

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act was first introduced in December 2017 and was reintroduced in the House following Virginia Governor Ralph Northam's radio interview where he blatantly condoned infanticide. At the time Democrats in his state were attempting to follow in New York's footsteps to lift restrictions on third-trimester abortions up until birth -- leaving a gray area that would allow the murder of babies even during labor.

This, despite how the majority of Americans – and even the majority of pro-choice Americans – oppose such legislation.

President Trump has dubbed the Democratic Party “the party of late-term abortion” and based upon recent remarks by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the continued refusal by Democrats to hold a vote on a bill that would stop something as morally reprehensible as infanticide, they’re living up to the title.
