The French are famous for three things: The Eiffel Tower, the consistently dull Tour de France bicycle race and surrendering to the Germans. But, one French cyclist may have just done something brave enough to change some of the stereotypes about the European nation.
In this astounding video, Frenchman François Gissy tied a rocket to his bike and rode it to a speed of 207 mph. (That’s 333km/h if you’re French.) His bike easily beat the Ferrari that he was racing.
"You better understand why the wind can do so much damage during powerful storms. I'm lucky my head is still bolted on the body!"
Next time, Gissy says, he is going to try and get the bike speed up to 247 mph.
