Her house is still standing after Hurricane Irma hit her West Palm Beach neighborhood.

“I thank God that the storm didn’t mess up our home because I can now still continue to do what I been doin’, helping people. That’s all my passion has been, is helping people,” Cynthia Anderson says.

WPEC reports, the single mother of five children, with the help of her church, has set up a tent in her front yard, preparing three meals a day for her neighbors who weren’t so fortunate.

According to WPEC:

Cynthia and a woman from her church, Do Right Church of Jesus Christ God and the Holy Ghost of West Palm Beach, are happy to share the food they have with those who are hungry.

No one is turned away. The food is free to anyone who stops by.

‘Come on over, sir. How are you today?’ Cynthia said to a man who came for a meal.

Among those who visited, Carmelino Aguilar, and his wife and their two small children, ages 4 and 5.

He is still without power several days after the hurricane and he’s grateful for the food.'

“I know that it’s not a lot. But it’s enough. It’s enough. And it makes me feel good to know that we did something to help the community,” Anderson says.

Anderson and fellow church member Dorothy McKinon say they’ll keep serving three meals a day at the tent in Anderson’s yard as long as the need is there.
