What do you do when you spend your rent money on lottery tickets? You set up a charity page and cross your fingers that people have pity on you and your less-than-intelligent choices.
Cinnamon Nicole, a native of Cordova, Tenn., supposedly “exhausted all of her funds” buying Powerball tickets in hopes of winning the $1.5 billion jackpot.
Her heartfelt message to her donors read:
“Please help me and my family as we have exhausted (sic) all of our funds. We spent all of our money on lottery tickets (expecting to win the 1.5 billion) and are now in dire need of cash. With your small donation of at least $1.00, a like and one share, I'm certain that we will be able to pick ourselves up from the trenches of this lost (sic) and spend another fortune trying to hit it big again! PLEASE, won't you help a family in need. DONATE NOW.”
What would be sad about this is the fact that it appears she was able to somehow dupe people into donating over $800 to her account before it was deleted. But, according to a post on Cinnamon’s Facebook page, this may have all been a joke.
Nicole is certainly playing off the debacle as if it were joke and her commenters certainly seem to find it all to be funny.
But not everyone was so amused. In fact, a woman by the name of Brandi Avera was so incensed by the page that she created her own titled “HANDOUT.”
“I did not over spend on the lotto for a chance at 1.5 billion, I bought a few, but I have a child and bills!! Unlike people Such as Cinnamon Nicole, I work to pay my bills and provide for my family. I don't just blow it and then expect people to give me a handout. But she blew all her $ on lotto and then started a go fund me because she was broke! And people have donated $800 or more! And she even stated that she is sure she can spend another fortune and hit it big! So people are so dumb they just give her money they worked for?? Says she is in need.... Yep, she needs to get off her ass and get a job!! This is just to show how stupid people can be!! She offers to make the people who donate her #wcw or #mcm. Well, for the highest donation I get, I will vote for Obama if that is what you want. And this must be true since I am putting it on the internet!!”
“Our country has gone to s**t and is getting worse by the day!! Wake up people!! Its time to make some changes!!!”
Then to add to the hysterics, some sources have said you can’t fault Nicole for the donations she received and others that suggested that we eject all of her alleged benefactors into space.
We’ll leave up to you to decide whether or not this is real -- because we’re really, really confused by all of this.
