We have yet another candidate for dumbest criminal. Brace yourself.

A suburban Chicago woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence on her way to a mandatory, court-ordered DUI class.

According to CBS 2 - Chicago:

Vanessa Vargas, 23, was pulled over about 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Woodside Road in Riverside, according to Riverside police.

An officer smelled alcohol and cannabis coming from the vehicle, and Vargas failed sobriety tests, police said. She had a blood-alcohol concentration [BAC] of .196, more than double the legal limit.

The officer found an open beer can and 18 grams of cannabis in the vehicle, according to police. She told police that she was on her way to a mandated DUI class in Chicago as part of a plea agreement from a January 2016 DUI arrest in Berwyn.

Vargas had a .196 BAC at 5:30 in the early evening. It’s always five o’clock somewhere, and it seems as though Vargas takes that saying literally.

In all seriousness, alcoholism is a very serious thing, and if someone can’t show up to a class on driving while impaired without being impaired, that person has a serious problem.

Let’s just hope the 23-year-old Vargas gets the help she obviously needs.
