A 17-year-old in Racine, Wisc. went to use the bathroom on Tuesday morning when all-of-a-sudden she noticed a baby in the toilet.

Braeley Pettigrew said she had no idea she was pregnant.

Pettigrew said she had been feeling sick lately, and around 3:30 a.m., got up to use the bathroom. She thought she was having a “tough” bowel movement when she gave birth to a baby boy.

According to WDJT in Milwaukee, Pettigrew then proceeded to cut the umbilical cord, wrap the baby up, and leave him on the porch. She later told her mother someone left the baby on the porch.

Her mom knew something was wrong when she noticed blood on the teenager’s clothing.

Pettigrew said, “I never thought I would be having a baby at 17, but my first instinct was to get him out of the toilet and wrap him up to keep him warm.”

She also said that she left the baby on the porch because she was scared her mom would be angry.

Local police say the teen will not face any charges.

She has decided to keep the baby and has named him Kayden.
