Why not 5, 6 or 7 Masks? Fauci's 'Common Sense' Tells Him Wearing Two Masks 'Likely' to Work Better than One

We’re officially living in a country run by people using the same logic as an 8-year-old. Although, to be fair to 8-year-olds, they occasionally get something right.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, advisor on the Chinese coronavirus to President Joe Biden, said on Monday that wearing two masks is “likely” better than wearing one.

Fauci spoke with the “Today” show on Monday, giving his “wisdom” to the sheep that actually watch daytime news programs.

“If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective,” Fauci said.

But wait, what about the “science” that we’re all told to follow? Surely there’s some “science” somewhere in this claim by Fauci, right? The correct answer is no.

Look at the words Fauci used in the statement above — “common sense” and “likely.” First, it’s not common sense that would dictate two masks would work better than one considering people have been wearing masks for almost a year now and we’re still apparently “breaking records” on infections.

And if we’re all supposed to “follow the science,” where’s the science that says wearing a second mask “likely would be more effective?” According to who? Oh that’s right, the good doctor’s “common sense.”

Except isn’t this the same guy who told everyone not to wear masks once upon a time in recent history?

During a “60 Minutes” interview in March 2020, Fauci reportedly said that “there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.” Obviously, Fauci changed his tune, but what are the people supposed to believe if the “science” is constantly changing and conclusions are reached based on Fauci’s “common sense?”

One can almost understand the childlike logic Fauci is employing in thinking that two masks would work better than one, even though no one really knows whether wearing masks works at all.

And that’s what is so comical about all of this. It sounded like a young child, not a supposedly experienced doctor came up with the idea for two masks. At the very least Fauci's "common sense" almost sound like a bad "Monty Python" sketch.

Knight #1: Lord, the masks simply aren't working. What ever shall we do?!

King: What to do? What to do? Oh, I've got it! Wear two masks!

In the words of Biden, 'come on, man.'

Here’s a novel idea — free will. If you feel the need to wear a mask, wear one. If you don’t feel the need to wear a mask, don’t wear one. That’s so simple even an 8-year-old could understand it.

Let’s just hope a government official — somewhere, somehow — has the mental capacity to understand it as well.
