Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) says Joe Biden “will become the most progressive president since FDR.”
Sanders made the comments late last week while speaking during the online Nation Festival event “Reimagining America.”
“After I dropped out of the race, as you'll recall, Biden and I agreed that we should do six task forces on the major issues facing the country. Economy, health care, education, climate change, criminal justice, immigration,” Sanders said.
“We got some of the leading progressives in America on those issues as part of a task force. Biden had five people, we had three on each task force. And it was a lot of give and take on a lot of discussion. And what I would say is that if those proposals, which did not go as far as I or my supporters would have liked, but if those proposals were to be implemented, I believe it is fair to say that Biden will become the most progressive president since FDR.”
