On Tuesday, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States.
The announcement was greeted by the American people with a resounding "Who?" Even his own campaign staff misspelled Huntsman's first name on press passes handed out to the media on the morning of the announcement.
MRCTV took a camera crew to the Newseum and asked tourists if they had ever heard of the former governor and ex-Obama ambassador to China. Most replied to our inquiry with a confused stares and guesses that were miles off the mark. One woman wondered if he had a monument dedicated to him somewhere in Washington D.C.
We knew going into this that most people would have no clue who Huntsman was. But, we were also well aware that the folks over at MSNBC had been talking about him an awful lot for a guy who has never polled above single digits. Sure enough, viewers of NBC News programing proved to be more aware of the candidate's existence than others. It makes you wonder why exactly NBC and MSNBC are so pumped about the Huntsman candidacy?
