David Bloch, founder and now former coach of the Woodstock Union High School Snowboarding team, is suing his school for their baseless firing of him. Bloch affirmed actual scientific fact regarding transgender ideologies and his employment with the school was baselessly terminated.
He started the Vermont snowboarding team back in 2011 and served as its head coach until he was fired in February, Catholic News Agency reported. Bloch volunteered for the school for three years before becoming a part-time employee. He also works a separate, full-time, job but mentioned that he has served at the school for more than a decade “mostly as a service to the students and [to] give them an activity to compete in,” as Matthew Hoffmann of Alliance Defending Freedom said.
Supposedly, back in February, Bloch had a “less than three minute” conversation with two students about the biological differences between men and women. According to the lawsuit, a male student indicated that it wasn’t fair for biological men to compete in women’s sports and a female student disagreed. She claimed his view was “transphobic.” Bloch stepped in and indicated that there are biological differences between males and females that go all the way down to their DNA. “He added that those differences contribute to males generally having an advantage in athletic competition,” CNA reported.
The conversation took place just before Bloch’s snowboarding team was set up against a team with a transgender athlete but, according to CNA, Bloch “never referred to that student specifically.”
The day after the conversation, Bloch got word that there was a complaint about the conversation and his position with the school was terminated. The notice indicated that Bloch violated an anti-harassment and anti-bullying policy when he, “made reference to [a] student in a manner that questioned the legitimacy and appropriateness of the student competing on the girls’ team.”
Right. Because folks, don’t forget, we only affirm and trust science if it panders to the leftist narrative. Oh, yeah - and you only have your First Amendment rights if you’re a raging leftist too.
ADF Senior Council Matthew Hoffman stated the following about the situation:
Dave has led the Woodstock Union snowboarding program to enormous success in terms of both athletic accomplishment and personal growth of the snowboarders. But for merely expressing his views that males and females are biologically different and questioning the appropriateness of a teenage male competing against teenage females in an athletic competition, school district officials unconstitutionally fired him.
This isn’t the first time someone has been fired for not falling for leftist wokeism, and I highly doubt it will be the last. Around the same time in February, a California public school teacher was fired because her religious convictions as a Christian caused her to want to tell the truth about children’s mental health problems to their parents. Her school wanted her to lie. Last October another Christian teacher in California was fired after refusing to read LGBTQ-themed books to five-year-old students.
It’s quite hypocritical of schools and places of employment to practice blatant bias when it comes to who does and who doesn’t get to speek their minds. I bet if any of those teachers promoted LGBTQ content, they’d get teacher of the year. And if Bloch told off the boy student for recognizing that boys have a physical advantage over girls? Well, he’d probably make leftie national news and would be hailed as a hero for being so “inclusive.”
