What We Need

If we are going to build a grassroots media what we need are foot soldiers. We need a conservative citizen journalist class. We need people who are informed and active. What we need are passionate people who are aware of what is going to make an impact and are willing to go out and get it. A great example of someone has all these attributes is a guy by the name of Ben Howe. I met Ben at CPAC this year and while his brother Caleb is a front pager at Red State he himself is not a full time blogger. He is a small business owner yet he has recently opened his own blog and started making some really remarkable videos. (slight language warning):

As you can see Ben has made two quality argument videos. That is, he went out to a protest where he knew there would be leftists, he was better informed than the leftist protesters, he engaged with the leftist protesters, he demolished the leftist protesters, and he took the footage thereof and made a compelling video from it. He basically created a video that you can show to a friend and that friend will be able to see the strength in the conservative position and the flaws in the liberal position.

Ben's videos are a great example of how someone who isn't a full time politico or pundit can still engage in the political arena and, potentially, influence a great number of people. And if we want to overcome the fact that the left controls almost every institution in this country, be it the government, education, entertainment, and especially the news media, we will need thousands more like Ben.

The grassroots media is coming and its exactly what we need.
