While Chick-fil-A has a “closed on Sunday” policy, one Texas branch owner came up with an innovative way to put that day toward a charitable cause.
Camenza Moreno owns a Chick-fil-A restaurant situated less than a mile away from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Knowing that the stadium and surrounding streets fill up on game days, Moreno came up with the brilliant idea of inviting local organizations to sell Chick-fil-A parking lot spaces to Dallas Cowboys football fans and put that money toward their respective causes.
Participating organizations receive 100-percent of the proceeds.
Her charitable idea became a huge success, helping organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star which reportedly raised as much as $17,813.
According to Blessings Buzz, “In the past five years, Morenzo’s Chick-fil-A parking lot has made more than $62,000 for [Dallas Fort Worth]-area organizations.”
A company known for its Christian values, Chick-fil-A and its local franchises have given more than $68 million in contributions to over 700 education and charitable organizations across America, not to mention the millions of dollars given in food donations.
