Athletes and politicians who believe that biological women should only compete against biological women in sports are correct. Anyone with common sense knows that’s the truth.

But many people think truth is a matter of circumstance and personal desire. Take Lia Thomas, who is a biological male posing as a woman. Thomas swam in the women’s division in his last year of college, and has been vocal about wanting schools to allow transgenders to do the same thing he did.

Thomas is continuing to up his ante. He has gone so far as to say that anyone who wants to protect women’s sports from insane individuals like himself is using their stance to spread transphobia.

“They’re using the guise of feminism to sort of push transphobic beliefs. I think a lot of people in that camp sort of carry an implicit bias against trans people, but don’t want to, I guess, fully manifest or speak that out. And so they try to just play it off as this sort of half-support,” Thomas said.

The podcast host goes on to blame the patriarchy for the "pain" being caused to "feminism" because of the resistance to trans athletes (there's nothing like two biological men discussing feminism and the patriarchy).

It’s not transphobic to say that men should not compete against women. 10 years ago, we weren’t even having this discussion because people weren’t demanding that society stand on its head to indulge their delusions.

No one can switch their genders by going through a surgery. Whether you are born a man or a woman, you will stay that way until you die; nothing changes this fact and no one should believe that this type of switch is possible.

If sports leagues setting up necessary and protective boundaries is the highest form of hate that Thomas has to face for his decision, he should consider himself - dare I say it - privileged.

And Thomas is missing another crucial point. Even some of the highest-profile critics of transgenders in women’s sports aren't saying that they are anti-trans, they just want women’s sports to be protected.

No matter what level of criticism people bring against the pro-women’s sports arguments, the last thing anyone should conclude is that transgenders are victims. But men who think they can become women aren't known for thinking logically.
