“What a joke,” Daily Caller Editor and Radio Host Vince Coglianese reacted Tuesday, retweeting an Axios reporter’s post of the breaking news that Pres. Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, has reached a plea deal to avoid jail time on a gun charge and two tax misdemeanors related to receipt of millions of foreign dollars.
As CNBC reported Tuesday:
“Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has agreed to plead guilty to two federal crimes of willfully failing to pay federal income tax, a court filing Tuesday revealed.
“Hunter Biden also has agreed to enter a so-called pretrial diversion agreement in connection with a charge of possession of a gun by a person who is a user or addict of illegal drugs, according to that filing by prosecutors in U.S. District Court in Delaware.”
Coglianese' reaction has been echoed by conservatives and Republican politicians who note that the light punishment is yet more proof of a two-tier justice system under the Biden Administration and its media cohorts.
The resolution of the charges will be used by liberal media to bury news of any influence-peddling stemming from Hunter Biden’s receipt of payments from foreign entities during his father’s time as vice president, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell tweeted:
“This is NOT accountability for Hunter Biden. Watch the media spin these charges and sweep the rest of the Biden family corruption under the rug.”
Indeed, The Washington Post reported the Biden news in an article that concluded by quoting one of Biden’s lawyers, Chris Clark, declaring that the long-running criminal investigation “is resolved.”
