What Happens if There's a Contested GOP Convention?

Over the last few months, the prospect of a brokered Republican convention have become a real possibility. This would mean that no candidate has the number of delegates required to secure the nomination. If the is the case, candidates would have the opportunity to try and convince delegates that are pledged to other candidates to join together under one banner in an effort to achieve a majority.

Presidential historian and Reagan biographer, Craig Shirley, joined Newsmax TV’s Ed Berliner earlier this week to discuss the history of brokered and contested conventions and how this rare political occurrence might play out in Cleveland this summer.
