What has transpired over the past week has been a very interesting debate over a simple word, “essential.”
Benjamin Franklin gave us the best means to understand the word “essential” in times of crisis. He stated, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
What is essential in these United States of America--individual liberty.
