First lady Jill Biden called the Latino community “as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio,” on Monday. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists quickly released a statement telling the White House “do not reduce us to stereotypes.”

“We are not tacos,” tweeted the NAHJ who posted a statement.
“Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by a variety of diasporas, cultures and food traditions, and should not be reduced to a stereotype,” NAHJ said along with the hashtag "#representationmatters."
NAHJ encourages @FLOTUS & her communications team to take time to better understand the complexities of our people & communities.
