Tom Cruise is known to perform his own stunts during his action movies and to push boundaries while doing so, making it no surprise that he would successfully attempt what is rightfully being called the most daring stunt in cinematic history.

Cruise’s new movie, “Mission Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning Part 1,” is set to hit theaters on July 13, 2023, but he gave fans a behind the scenes look at a stunt he and a massive team conducted for the film. The stunt required him to ride a motorcycle off a cliff, seamlessly turn it into a base jump, and pull a parachute before he hit the bottom of a gaping ravine.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself.

“I’ve wanted to do this since I was a little kid,” Cruise said.

Well that makes you and … very few other people -- if any.

The stunt took place in Norway and was actually filmed earlier in 2022, but the buildup to the actual jump was just as incredible. In all, Cruise practiced 13,000 dirt track jumps and over 500 drops from an airplane as the team spent months perfecting the jump and millions of dollars setting up several sites to bring it all together.

Cruise’s team films the biggest stunt in each movie first to get it out of the way.

Writer-director Christopher McQuarrie did not mince words when describing the magnitude of what his team pulled off.

“This is far and away the most dangerous thing we’ve ever attempted,” McQuarrie said.

But apparently, there’s more exhilarating scenes to come.

“The only thing that scares me more is what we have planned for ‘Mission: 8,’” McQuarrie said.

Buckle up, MI fans. These last two movies are gonna be one heck of a show.
