WATCH: Retired NBA Star Brings Clean Water to Flint

While the lead poisoning in Flint's water supply has been outside of the national spotlight for the past several months, the problem continues to persist. Enter retired NBA star Rasheed Wallace, a former Detroit Piston, who decided to take a trip to the Michigan city over the weekend and deliver hundreds of water bottles to the still-struggling community.

Accompanied by fellow NBA retiree Stephen Jackson, ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols and others, Wallace bought several stores out of water and distributed it throughout the town. Nichols documented the entire trip, posting her video on Facebook Monday:

"Everyone thinks the water crisis has been settled, but it hasn't," Wallace, who made a similar trip to Flint back in February, says in the video.

The four-time All-Star went on to discuss how people respond when he brings clean water to their door:

Some people thank you, you hear little kids screaming, 'Mom, mom, the water trucks outside!" We have a couple people saying, "Oh man, it's Christmas in July."

We take it for granted because we live in other cities so our water is fine, but just imagine if this happened in your town. You damn sure would want help too, so that's why we're here.

Hopefully other celebrities like Wallace continue to utilize their stardom and wealth to serve Flint until the situation can be fully resolved.
