You can't make this stuff up.

Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) just testified in front of the House to highlight the work of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and made a point of bringing up the gender inclusivity of...vehicle crash test dummies.

DeLauro praised Buttigieg's "important investments" and "critical funding" to develop "female dummies in crash testing," to "fight the gender inequity among vehicle safety and crash victims."

Yes, now we apparently care (well at least some people) about making sure we fight “gender inequity” among synthetic test subjects.

DeLauro is thrilled about the use of female dummies to help with the “gender inequity” in vehicle crash testing. Well, I know they’ve got at least one female dummy, and - hint, hint - she’s got purple hair.

Wait a minute, isn’t this chick one of the ones who thinks that there’s no difference between men and women? YEUP. Then again, it's hard to take anyone with purple hair seriously.

The thing is, companies have been using different bodies as dummies for years. This isn’t a boast for Mr. Butti or a gold star for inclusivity. You’ve all seen the commercials - usually they’ve got men, women, pregnant women, children, infants and sometimes even pets as dummies for vehicle crash testing. They may not say "THIS IS A FEMALE DUMMY," but they certainly vary the size and shape to check what would happen to different types of people in car accidents.

Not to mention, don’t we have about a gazillion other things to worry about in this nation than “gender inequity” among test dummies?

Many Twitter users were astonished by the idiocy and took to social media to express their thoughts.

Well Ms. DeLauro, the people have spoken, and it seems like the stars are not aligning in your logic’s favor.
