Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz has dealt with hecklers and protesters before, but usually in the form of adults.
During a campaign rally in Indiana on Sunday, the Texas senator was forced to confront a boy who was vehemently yelling over him.
“Apparently there’s a young man who’s having some problems,” said Cruz.
The boy then shouted, “Yeah, you suck!”
“Thank you, son,” Cruz replied.
The Texas senator addressed the yelling by saying, “Children should actually speak with respect."
He threw in a jab at his rival and GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump:
“Imagine what a different world it would be if someone had told Trump that years ago,” Cruz fired.
“You know, in my household, when a child behaves that way, they get a spanking,” he added, setting off rounds of applause.
