With all the talk in the media, social media and everywhere else focusing solely on the Kavanaugh inquisition, sometimes it's difficult to remember that other news is still happening at the same time.
California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill into law on Sunday that dictates that companies in the state with a board of directors must have at least one woman on said board. But, that's only if that particular board has less than five members. The number of women mandated to be on a board of directors increases with the size of the board. If the company doesn't adhere to the law, they face potential fines that reach six figures!
Maybe it's just me, but this law is incredibly sexist...to women!
Join me as I call out Brown and other members of the California state government for their hypocritical and potentially harmful law that could impact not only the corporations forced into making "diversity hires," but women as well.
