Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is praising the border efforts of the Texas National Guard by commenting on video that shows them blocking a line of potential border crossers.

Abbott tweeted:

“Great work by Texas National Guard and Texas DPS. Gov. Biden sent 1,500 troops to the border to do paperwork. Texas deployed trained soldiers and troopers to take real action and respond to this crisis.”

The Daily Wire reports that the “Video captured by journalist Todd Bensman shows a wall of razor wire ordered by Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott and state authorities blocking immigrants crossing the Rio Grande River attempting to enter the city of Brownsville, Texas.”

Tens of thousands have been surging their way towards the U.S. Southern Border as expulsions carried out under a Trump-era Title 42 pandemic policy are set to cease on Thursday.

Fox News reports that “Border Patrol agents apprehended over 10,000 migrants on both Monday and Tuesday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources tell Fox News, marking the highest single-day totals ever recorded ahead of the end of the Title 42 public health order later this week.”
