A black man took to Facebook Sunday night in an angry video message, claiming he’d been carjacked the night before by a black man who attempted to shoot him in the head.

In the video taken inside his car, Ronnie Wilson said he’d always been a strong advocate for black people, and has showed strong support for Black Lives Matter. His consistent backing of his own community, he said, is what caused him to get so angry when one of its members nearly killed him over a car. Wilson explained:

Last night, somebody tried to carjack me.

I’m more angry than anything, because all week, and pretty much all my adult life, you know, I’ve taken up for and I’ve advocated for brothers. And I was advocating for brothers even before Black Lives Matter and any of this stuff. I was always advocating for brothers. And last night, I’m leaving the club, and I was about to get in the car. I had the door open. And a dude ran up on me and said, ‘get up out the car.’

Wilson said he made a “stupid” choice to stay inside the car and refuse to give in to the would-be carjacker. The man then put a gun to his head and again demanded Wilson get out of the car. When he again refused, the man pulled the trigger but the gun didn't fire, Wilson said.

“This muthaf***** pulled the trigger,” Wilson said. “Like, he literally pulled the f****** trigger over a f****** car.”

“I don’t know if his gun jammed,” he added. "I don’t know if the safety was on or what.”

“I’m mad,” Wilson continued. “As hard as I go for you [guys], man. I’m sitting here and I’m advocating man, and I go hard for you. And you try to take my life for a car. I’m telling ya’ll to watch out for cops, and I gotta watch out for ya’ll.”

Brother, whoever you are, if you see this, I’m gonna tell you something. I ain’t perfect, but I’m a good dude. I’m a good dude…I don’t try to harm nobody. And last night, you almost took one of the real ones. Like, I advocate for ya’ll man, and you almost took one of the real ones.

I got three kids. And you almost took me out for a f****** car.

After calming down, Wilson said in the video that he was able to drive away from the carjacker, but “messed up” his car in the process of driving away so quickly.

As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, Wilson’s video had garnered more than 87,000 views and 2,800 comments. It’s not immediately evident from Wilson’s Facebook page where the alleged incident took place. Wilson's page also includes posts like #AllLivesMatter and messages promoting racial unity.
