Vice President-elect Mike Pence held a press conference on Capitol Hill following a meeting with Republicans in the Senate on Wednesday.

He said that his conversation with the Senate GOP was “inspiring” and looks forward to “making America great again” in 16 days upon Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The Indiana governor said that the Trump administration will work with Congress to, first and foremost, “repeal and replace Obamacare.”

“The first order of business is to repeal and replace Obamacare,” said Pence. “Obamacare has failed and the American people have sent a decisive message to Washington, D.C.”

He explained that a budget will be drafted in Congress that will aim to repeal Obamacare and create a replacement "that will lower the cost of health insurance without growing the size of government.”

He added that Trump is working on a series of executive orders that he will put into effect to ensure “there is an orderly transition to a market-based healthcare economy in America.”

“President-elect Donald Trump is a man of his word,” said Pence.

Other items on the agenda include U.S. infrastructure, border security, immigration, rebuilding the military, nominating a conservative Supreme Court justice, and passing tax relief for working families before the spring.
