Voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, Joe Alaskey, Dies at 63

Voice actor Joe Alaskey lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday. He was 63.

Alaskey was best known as the voice of Looney Toon characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck after he took over the vocal helm from the original voice actor Mel Blanc in 1989.

Alaskey also voiced many other well-known characters over the years:

  • Ralph Kramden in The Honeymooners: The Lost Episodes
  • Marvin the Martian
  • Plucky Duck
  • President Richard Nixon in Forrest Gump
  • Baby Huey
  • Grandpa Lou Pickles in The Rugrats films
  • Sylvester the Cat
  • Tweety Bird

Alaskey also played the role of Jackie Gleason in the TV movie "King of the World."

He received an Emmy award in 2004 for his work on "Duck Dodgers" on the Cartoon Network.
