UPDATE 8:03 P.M. EST:

The "violent deportee" who escaped ICE custody at JFK airport Tuesday night was arrested 10 times on multiple charges including carrying concealed weapons, possessing firearms as a felon, armed abduction and sexual abuse, authorities say.

Mohamadou Lamine Mbacke, 31, remains on the loose as ICE and Port Authority Police continue their search.

Mbacke lived in New York in 2006 after immigrating to the U.S. legally and racked up 10 arrests in the city, according to NYPD.

He most recently lived in Detroit, Michigan, where he was arrested two more times.

The New York Post reports,

Michigan court records show Mbacke, who immigrated legally in 2005, struck a probation-only plea bargain in 2012 following a traffic stop during which was he slapped with concealed-weapons and open-container charges.

He was still on probation when was busted again in 2013 on charges of carrying concealed weapons and possessing firearms as felon, and was sentenced to two years in prison on another plea deal. Mbacke was turned over to ICE upon his release in August 2015, and was ordered deported by an immigration judge the following month, officials said.

He was released on bond with an 'order of supervision' pending deportation, sources said, leading to his April 2017 arrest in the alleged armed abduction and sexual abuse of a woman he met at Detroit’s MotorCity Casino.

Mbacke took that case to trial and was acquitted in January following an earlier hung jury, his court-appointed lawyer told The Post.

On Tuesday, Mbacke traveled in ICE custody from Detroit to JFK, where he was supposed to board another flight for deportation back to his home country. He managed to escape while going through security and was last seen jumping into a taxi cab at 9 p.m. local time.

ICE has asked that anyone who sees Mbacke to immediately contact authorities but cautions the public not to try to apprehend him.

"Defense lawyer Matthew Evans described Mbacke as a 'very nice young man' who was 'quote married' to a girlfriend he wed in an Islamic ceremony that wasn’t recognized by civil authorities," reports The Post.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A man deemed a “violent deportee” remains on the loose after escaping U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody at John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens, New York on Tuesday.

The man has been identified as Mohamadou Lamine Mbacke, 32, from Senegal, Fox News reports. He was at the airport to board a flight for deportation back to his home country.

Mbacke reportedly managed to escape while going through security at about 8 p.m. Tuesday night. When Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials at Gate B23 in Terminal 4 removed his handcuffs, he bolted, reports New York Daily News. Surveillance video shows him hop into a taxi at around 9 p.m. Mbacke remains at large.

According to ICE, Mbacke is a “violent deportee” who had “previous criminal convictions for multiple weapons and firearms offenses.”

“Mbacke entered the country lawfully in 2005 before violating the terms of his status. He was ordered deported in September 2015 by an immigration judge,” ICE said in a Wednesday statement. “Mbacke has previous criminal convictions for multiple weapons and firearms offenses.”

He is described as black, about 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a purple or black shirt, jeans and sneakers.

Sources tell Fox News and New York Daily News that ICE and TSA officials failed to inform local law enforcement officials of the escape until 9:15 p.m., after Mbacke had already left the airport grounds.

“The delay in notifying the Port Authority Police Department about the prisoner’s escape is yet another example of the lack of coordinated communications between all law enforcement agencies at our nation’s airports,” said Paul Nunziato, president of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association.
