In the last month alone there've been four instances where Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials and the facilities they used were targeted by others.

While talking to Fox & Friends on Wednesday, Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kevin McAleenan said that he believes the media and politicians are "demonizing law enforcement for doing their jobs" and "it can be dangerous."

"I think the environment where we're demonizing law enforcement for doing their jobs, for enforcing the laws on the books, is concerning, it can be dangerous and it can result in people taking actions that are not supported by the facts," he said.

This comes after the most recent attack on San Antonio ICE offices which remains under investigation. While ICE only owned certain offices in the downtown high rise building that was shot at, it was clear that the shooter was targeting the ICE offices specifically, said the FBI.

The ICE Field Office Director for San Antonio, Daniel Bible blamed "politicians, media outlets, and activist groups for recklessly sharing information and misinformation to the public” for the most recent attack.

One of the Fox & Friends hosts on Wednesday's segment also pointed out how demonizing ICE for doing its job of removing illegal aliens is not fair to those who work for ICE generally.

The rhetoric spewed by those in the political class has led to violence like the attacker who tried to firebomb an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington, last year. In the manifesto of the now-dead attacker, he specifically referred to ICE facilities as concentration camps, rhetoric strikingly similar to that used by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Former ICE Director Tom Homan also released an article pointing out the hypocrisy of the media and political classes who would try and blame President Trump for tragedies like the El Paso shooting, but then turn a blind eye when left-wing ideology fuels the intentions of criminals who attack and harass federal employees.
