Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is well-known for calling out millionaires and billionaires not paying their fair share in taxes.

So what does that mean for someone like Sanders?

The Vermont senator released his taxes recently and it was revealed that he himself is a millionaire. Huh?

Does this mean that Sanders was referring to himself when he said the wealthy weren’t paying their "fair share?" Does this mean he's a hypocrite?

Cabot Phillips of Campus Reform went to the University of New Hampshire to see how students would react when they found out the "beloved" senator is one of those people whom he often speaks out against.

“I do think it’s hypocritical,” a student told Phillips.

“I mean I had no idea but now that you say that… definitely,” another said.

“You have a ton of extra money that you could be shoveling out, but you’re going to take it away from people who might actually need it,” a female student explained.

The surprise of the long-time member of congress being one of those millionaires he seems to despise didn’t reach every student.

“He just like a classic career politician,” one student said. “I feel like obviously he’s got to be a millionaire.”

“Typically the ones in the top, on the T.V. a lot, tend to be, you know, really wealthy,” another said.

Take a look at Campus Reform’s video below to hear what other students said:
