Memorial Day was just regular-season game 50 out of 162 for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres. However, one very special guest gave this Monday evening game in Seattle a little extra meaning.

The Mariners paid tribute to our military by having 92-year-old retired U.S. Navy 2nd Class Petty Officer Burke Waldron toss out the ceremonial first pitch. Seattle catcher Steve Clevinger had the honor of standing in front of home plate and receiving the pitch from the World War II veteran.

The Padres must have felt at home despite being in Seattle, considering San Diego is home to one of the largest Naval bases in the U.S.

After throwing out the first pitch, the energetic Waldron walked spryly toward Clevenger with a pen to get the catcher's autograph. Clevenger gladly complied with the request.

Thank you for your service, Mr. Waldron.
