A new survey has ranked U.S. states and cities according to the sex appeal of their accents.
The Big 7 Travel survey identified Texas as having the “sexiest” accent in America, followed by Boston, Mass., New York, Maine, and Chicago, Ill.
While the slow Texas drawl ranked number one in sex appeal followed by Boston’s quintessentially “wicked” accent at number two, New Jersey or “Joisey” and Long Island ranked last at spots 49 and 50, respectively.
Minnesota was ranked number 48.
Other notable mentions include California at number 10 for its “super long vowels,” Miami at number 13 as a “relatively new young accent” with Spanish rhythmic elements, and Atlanta with its dropped “r’s” at number 31.
