This is what you get with Socialism. This is what you get with an ideology that has historically always ended with genocide.
An annual joint university study in Venezuela concerning the well being of the Venezuelan people was released on Wednesday — and from the looks of it, the Venezuelan people are slowly being exterminated.
According to Reuters, the study revealed the following:
Venezuelans reported losing on average 11 kilograms (24 lbs) in body weight last year and almost 90 percent now live in poverty, according to a new university study on the impact of a devastating economic crisis and food shortages.
Over 60 percent of Venezuelans surveyed said that during the previous three months they had woken up hungry because they did not have enough money to buy food. About a quarter of the population was eating two or less meals a day, the study showed.
Last year, the three universities found that Venezuelans said they had lost an average of 8 kilograms during 2016. This time, the study's dozen investigators surveyed 6,168 Venezuelans between the ages of 20 and 65 across the country of 30 million people.
The main reason why Venezuela hasn’t been brought up on human rights charges is because the very "tolerant" United Nations (UN) are just as Socialist as both the late-Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro regimes have been.
Case in point is a statement from UN Human Rights expert Alfred de Zayas back in December:
There is a worrying media campaign to force observers into a preconceived view, e.g. that there is a “humanitarian crisis” in Venezuela. We should be wary of hyperbole and exaggeration, bearing in mind that “humanitarian crisis” is a terminus technicus and could be misused as a pretext for military intervention and regime change.
That statement came just months after the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein accused the Venezuelan government of “human rights violations.”
“There is a very real danger that tensions will further escalate,” al-Hussein wrote, “with the Government crushing democratic institutions and critical voices – including through criminal proceedings against opposition leaders, recourse to arbitrary detentions, excessive use of force, and ill-treatment of detainees, which in some cases amounts to torture.”
The treatment of the Venezuelan people should be no surprise to anyone who follows international news.
Last June, MRCTV interviewed Venezuelan citizen Aura Garrillo about the plight of her fellow Venezuelans.
MRCTV’s Nick Kangadis asked Garrillo about whether the plight of the Venezuelan people could be classified as genocide.
Garrillo simply responded with a definitive, “Oh, yeah.”
While the Far-Left in the U.S. has embraced Socialism with open arms, Socialism in actual practice is upping the body count for the ideology.
