California Polytechnic State University recently detailed plans to lower the percentage of white people on their campus to match California’s racial demographic, all in the name of “diversity and inclusion,” reports College Fix.
The 30-page report states that “progress” has been made on campus due to its decline in the percentage of enrolled white students and increase in minority students, while also ensuring there is “still much work to do.”
“In 2011, the campus was 63 percent Caucasian; in fall of 2017, it was less than 55 percent,” the report states.
The university brags of its newly created “Office of University Diversity and Inclusion,” which has worked to increase minority representation on campus.
One way they have supposedly done so is through the elimination of the Early Decision option for applying high-schoolers, which they found “disadvantaged low-income students.”
The university’s goal, according to the document, is to ensure its student body is “reflecting the demographics of California and creating a more diverse and inclusive campus community.”
Many conservatives have expressed their outrage towards the report, but I actually look forward to seeing how Cal Poly “progresses” so that its racial demographic, to the nearest hundredth percent, is completely identical to those of its state. Afterall, why focus on finding the most qualified students when you can reflect racial demographics?
