Union Protesters Dragged From Tennessee Senate

Stephen Gutowski | March 16, 2011

Why is it that union supporters seem so incredibly comfortable with using reprehensible means of displaying their dissatisfaction with things? They're always out there jumping at the chance to use completely inappropriate tactics. Or, like in this case, tactics that are inappropriate for the situation. (h/t Fox Nation)

Now these tactics aren't always out of line, for instance when the you are not allowed to peaceably voice your opinion publicly then civil disobedience is acceptable, but in this case there is no good reason to take such disruptive actions. As the report notes these protesters were allowed to assemble out side of the senate building and voice their opinion on the proceedings which they did. They are freely allowed to elect representatives to vote against the bills they don't agree with which they probably also did.

In other words these kinds of disruptive tactics are legitimate in certain extreme situations when your rights to voice your opposition to legislation are trampled upon. Obviously that isn't what happened here. Instead, these lefties didn't get their way and decided to trample all over the democratic process in order to force their will on a freely elected legislature.

That seems to be a trend among union supporters these days. A very troubling trend...

UPDATE: The trend continues as it appears that union supporters have taken over the Michigan capital building.
