Two House Democrats Say Pelosi Should Step Down as Leader

Two Democratic congressmen are urging House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to step down from her post in the party leadership arguing that change is necessary in the wake of the party's two successive mid-term election loses.

In an interview with a Boston television station, Massachusetts Reps. Stephen Lynch and Michael Capuano both agreed that following the crushing defeats, something needs to change.

While the congressmen did not pin all of the blame for the Democrats big losses on Pelosi, they both agreed that she bears a great deal of responsibility for the GOP's big gains 2010 and 2014.

"I think we need leadership that understands if something you're doing is not working, change what you're doing," said Capuano who once served as Pelosi's transition chief when she was preparing to become Speaker of the House in 2007.

Lynch agreed saying “Nancy Pelosi will not lead us back to the majority." Asked if Pelosi should resign from her leadership post, Lynch replied, “Right.”

Ouch!

Both Democrats have been serving in the House of Representatives for more than a decade.
