A new poll conducted by Emerson College shows Donald Trump edging out Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 rematch for the White House.
“Voters were asked about a series of hypothetical 2024 matchups. If Biden and Trump are the eventual nominees in 2024, Trump is slightly favored with 47%, while Biden is at 46%. Biden is stronger against DeSantis, with a 48% to 36% advantage,” Emerson College Polling reports.
The poll finds that among Republican voters, 67% said that they would vote for former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical Republican primary with 7 other candidates. Governor Ron DeSantis was the only other candidate who received double digit support at 10%.
39% of Democratic voters said they would like to see a candidate other than Biden as the Democratic Party presidential nominee in 2024.
The poll was taken between Aug. 30 and Sept.1, 2021. For a complete look at the details of the Emerson College Polling report click here.
