President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a joint news conference at the White House on Friday.

When asked to respond to the news that his executive order on immigration was again blocked by a federal appeals court Thursday night, Trump replied that he has “no doubt” his administration will “win that particular case.”

"We are going to keep our country safe,” said Trump. “We are going to do whatever’s necessary to keep our country safe… Safety is a primary reason, one of the reasons, I'm standing here today."

"We will not allow people into our country who are looking to do harm," he added.

The President told reporters that his administration will be “doing something very rapidly” involving additional security measures.

While he did not provide any specifics, Trump said that the media can expect to see such measures “sometime next week.”

“In addition, we will continue to go through the court process,” he went on, “and ultimately, I have no doubt that we’ll win that particular case.”

Shinzo Abe congratulated Trump for becoming president and thanked the American people for “the always heartwarming welcome.”

He refused to comment on President Trump’s executive order restricting travel for refugees and visitors from seven countries with ties to terrorism.

The Japanese prime minister referred to the issue as “domestic matters.”
